Dr. Papageorgiou is a Full Professor of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, McGill University and Chief of Pediatrics/Neonatology, Jewish General Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital, He is Past President of the Canadian and the Quebec Neonatal Societies and Program Director for Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine, McGill University. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as Elected Member of the American and European Societies for Pediatric Research, member of several national and international societies, in particular, of the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine. Also a member of numerous university, national and international committees and the recipient of numerous awards, including the Osler Award, McGill University for outstanding teacher, the Kaplan Award, Department of Pediatrics, McGill University, for best clinical teacher, the Prix Letondal of the Quebec Medical Association and the Soranos Award for contributions to neonatal/perinatal medicine. He has been awarded honorary degrees from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat, Morocco and the Hacceteppe University of Ankara, Turkey and the Hellenic Neonatal and Perinatal Societies. He is featured in the International Directory of Who's Who and the Best Doctors in North America. Dr. Papageorgiou is the recipient of several research grants and author of over 125 peer review publications, 12 book chapters and over 400 national and international invited presentations to 43 countries.
